Samsung, LG, Vizio 3D TVs Dominating Best-Sellers

Samsung, LG and Vizio are absolutely dominating the top ten list on Amazon for best-selling 3D TVs as of the end of August. Each manufacturer claimed 3 models in the top ten.

3 of the top 10 best-selling 3D TVs on Amazon were Samsung models, including the top-selling product overall.
#1 – Samsung UN55D8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV)
#7 – Samsung UN60D8000 60-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV
#8 – Samsung UN55D8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV

Overall of the 50 best-selling TVs on Amazon at the end of August, 12 of those models with 3D televisions. We will be keeping a close eye on this figure to monitor the growth of 3D TV against non-3D TV models over time.

LG models represented 3 of the top 5 best-selling models at the end of August, which probably makes them the winner in the overall field, although just a hair ahead of Samsung and a length ahead of Vizio.

VIZIO XVT3D474SV 47 Inch – #3 3D TV in August

In the month on August, the third most popular 3D TV sold on Amazon, and the 15th most popular television overall, was the VIZIO XVT3D474SV 47 Inch Full HD 3D TV. This is Vizio’s most popular 3D television, and rocks the Full Array TruLED with Smart Dimming LCD screen with 480 Hz SPS, and comes with the suite of VIZIO Internet Apps. It’s currently being offered for $950, substantially less than its $1,450 list price. This is Vizio‘s top-selling 3D TV model.

Vizio XVT3D650SV vs. Vizio XVT3D474SV

PCMagazine looked at two of Vizio’s popular 3D TV models, specifically the XVT3D650SV and the larger XVT3D650SV model. The smaller 474SV (47″) is an LED backlist HD 3D TV that is offered at $1,699 at most retailers. The substantially larger 650SV (65″) is also an LED backlit HD 3D TV that comes with the rather hefty price tag of $3,699. The article also notes that if you are interested in the bigger screen, you should consider its Editor’s Choice Samsung UN55C8000 which is a better product and better value priced at $2,400.
