PC World Favorite 3D TV for 2011 – LG Infinia 47LW6500

PC World recently reviewed the 3D HDTVs on the market and picked out their five favorites. Their favorite 3D HDTV for 2011 is the 47″ LG Infinia 47LW6500, which uses passive 3D glasses and provides “very good depth [which] doesn’t appear to sacrifice detail” according to PC World. They went on to say that “LG’s 47LW6500 impressed our testers with excellent 3D depth and crisp image quality.”

We were also recently looking at this LG model here at our blog when we were talking about the best-selling 3D TVs on Amazon and the LG Infinia 47LW6500 model clocked in as the second best seller for August.

Amazon is currently selling the LG Infinia 47LW6500 for under $1,100, and seems to be a favorite of both the market and reviewers for its great picture and reasonable price.

Samsung UN55D8000 55 Inch Top-Selling 3D TV in August

When faced with an overwhelming task of figuring out something new, like which 3D TV you should buy to be your initial foray into 3D Home Entertainment, I personally find market data to be an interesting way to start my analysis. Like, for instance, I always find myself asking “What are other people buying, and what do they think about what they bought?” While this isn’t a singular guide to making a purchasing selection, it does have its value as a guidepost.

I recently reviewed the top-selling 3D TVs on Amazon for the month of August, and discovered that the #7 selling TV overall and the top-selling 3D TV model is the Samsung UN55D8000 55 Inch 3D LED HDTV. This popular model sports a 3D LED screen (HD of course), 240Hz, and 1080p. This TV is currently retailing on Amazon at $2,073, a significant reduction from its $3,599 list price. This is obviously Samsung‘s top selling 3D TV model.

I always think that it’s useful to review what are the most popular 3D models being currently purchased as its own type of market data. In the month of August, the LG Infinia 47LW6500 47 Inch Cinema 3D with Smart TV was the second most purchased 3D television sold on Amazon, and the tenth most popular television overall. This popular model rocks an LED screen, 1080p, and 240 Hz and includes 4 pairs of 3D glasses. It’s currently being offered at $1,067, substantially lower than its $1,900 list price. This is LG‘s most popular 3D TV model.

VIZIO XVT3D474SV 47 Inch – #3 3D TV in August

In the month on August, the third most popular 3D TV sold on Amazon, and the 15th most popular television overall, was the VIZIO XVT3D474SV 47 Inch Full HD 3D TV. This is Vizio’s most popular 3D television, and rocks the Full Array TruLED with Smart Dimming LCD screen with 480 Hz SPS, and comes with the suite of VIZIO Internet Apps. It’s currently being offered for $950, substantially less than its $1,450 list price. This is Vizio‘s top-selling 3D TV model.

LG Infinia 47LW5600 47 Inch – #4 3D TV in August

The fourth most popular 3D television sold on Amazon in the month of August, and the 16th most popular TV overall, is the LG Infinia 47LW5600 47 Inch Cinema 3D TV. It sports a 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV screen with Smart TV, which includes 4 pairs of 3D glasses. This is LG‘s second most popular 3D TV model, just slightly less popular and expensive than the LG Infinia 47LW6500 model which comes with the 240Hz 47″ screen instead of the 120Hz 47″ screen. It’s currently being offered on Amazon for $1,000, way below its list price of $1,700.

LG’s second most popular model selling on Amazon in August, and its lead 55″ 3D TV product, the LG Infinia 55LW5600 55 Inch Cinema 3D TV was the #5 most popular 3D television model and the #17 best-selling TV overall. It rocks a huge 55″ 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV screen which comes with four pairs of glasses. Its list price is $2,400, but it’s currently selling for quite a bit less than that on Amazon at only $1,439.

VIZIO E3D420VX 42 Inch – #6 3D TV in August

Vizio’s top selling 3D TV on Amazon in the month of August, the VIZIO E3D420VX 42 Inch Class Theater 3D TV, was the #6 best-selling 3D TV overall on Amazon, and its most popular 42″ 3D TV sold. It offers a 42 Inch Class Theater 3D LCD HDTV with the VIZIO suite of Internet Apps. This is also the most affordable 3D TV to clock into the best-selling list, as it is currently offered on Amazon at just $648, quite a bit less than the other most popular 3D TVs.

It is Samsung‘s 2nd most popular 3D television, and sells for $2,589 currently, much below its $4,300 list price. It rocks a huge 60″ LED HDTV 3D screen with 1080p and 240Hz.

The Samsung UN55D7000 55 Inch 3D TV was the 8th most popular 3D TV sold on Amazon in August, and the 28th most popular television overall. It has a huge 55″ 3D LED HDTV screen, 1080p, 240Hz, and currently retails for $2,000, quite a bit lower than its $3,200 list price. It represents Samsung‘s third member of the top 10 3D TVs sold on Amazon in August.

Sony BRAVIA XBR55HX929 55 Inch 3D LED TV. This is Sony‘s best-selling 3D TV on Amazon, and offers a huge 55 Inch 3D Local-Dimming LED HDTV screen with Built-in Wifi, and is currently being offered for $2,413.
